I would recommend taking time to listen to these: *if any artist or label has a problem with their music on this site, email me and I'll take it off*

. Broken Social Scene / self titled "_Hotel" and "7-4 Shoreline" | Arts & Crafts

. Dosh / Pure Trash "_Simple Exersizes" and "_I think I'm getting married" | Anticon

My other favorite album from him is his 2003 self-titled promo disk. Its the kind of music that brings back the feeling of a snow-day. -when your normal routine is welcomly interrupted.

. Akron/Family "_Shoes" and "_Before and Again"| Young God Records

Same label who carries Devendra Banhart. If you like this then I highly recommend Devendra's 'Nina Rojo' or 'Rejoicing in the Hands'.

. The Arcade Fire [EP] "_No Cars Go", and "_The Woodland's National Anthem" | Merge Records

Well, we got officially bitchslapped by hurricane Wilma. When voice calls started going through on Sunday and I was able to talk with family and friends from elsewhere in the US, it became apparent that there wasn't much public knowledge of what was going on down here. When I finally got access to an internet connection Friday, I started searching google news for 'hurricane wilma'. and kept finding this same quote in the news articles from some gem. It gives a perfect glance inside the mentality of Southern Florida-

"I miss not having a hot shower," Jenny Pearce said. "But what can we do? We could sit around and cry about it, but instead I prefer to go to the mall."

thats right - "We could sit around and cry about it, but instead I prefer to go to the mall." No wonder other countries hate us. You can find that quote in about 6 different articles posted in newspapers or around the net. Seeing the lack of any real coverage, and the abundance of short articles including the above quote, you can't but help notice the 'tough-in-cheek'ness of the writers doing a disaster update on South Florida.

But anwyay, it's been a week and streetlights are still down and curfew is still in effect. You can still smell that anti-freeze stench of electricy burning in some areas. I don't feel like typing the same story over so I'm just going to post up my _response to an email I got earlier.

_yup (I flew over New Orleans in route from DFW to PBI Sunday, Sept.11. The captain came on the speaker saying we were going to be flying over the disaster area in a few minutes. When we got there, he tilted the plane so we were practically looking straight down. We were too high up to make out what was water and what wasn't, but it looked like an absolute mess. Nowhere could you see the normal grid patterns common from an arial view of a populated area.)
